Unless you are completely new to juicing, I know you’ve heard a lot about the wonders of greens. You’ve probably even head about the benefits of Mean Green Machine made famous my Joe Cross? If not you can read my article about the Mean Green juice.

But… even if you are not new to juicing, you may be wondering why juicing or, in particular, why juicing greens is so healthy.

Either way, no doubt you’re anxious to dive in.

So lets get started with talking about healthy green veggies for juicing.

Whether you mix your greens together into a salad or you blend them to make a juice, green leafy plants and veggies have many wonderful health benefits. However, the wonders of juicing greens go beyond those of eating a mixed green salad.

Why?

The main benefit in juicing your ingredients lies in the fact that juicing unlocks the vital nutrients bound up in the plant or fruit’s insoluble fibers.

What are Greens?

Greens are nature’s own multivitamin and mineral storehouse.

They are jammed packed with antioxidants, nutrients and vitamins A, C & K, calcium, iron, and potassium, just to name some of the whole goodness that can be squeezed out of them.

The nutrients you get from consuming extracted green juices are necessary for your body to maintain many of the processes it constantly carries out everyday at a very basic level.

Our basic bodily functions supported by these nutrients include reducing unhealthy levels of (bad) cholesterol, improving vision, managing your weight, and among other benefits, gives you a huge boost to your immune system, which helps fight off some types of pain causing diseases, cancer, colds, flu, etc., etc.

Besides all of those terrific benefits, a healthy juice provides you with excellent sources of fiber, which keeps your digestive system from getting plugged up.

Ingredients for Making the Healthiest Green Juice

For those who are concerned with slowing or reversing ye ol aging clock, your anti aging recipe should include Kale, Swiss Chard, or Dandelion Greens.

If you are looking to keep down your bad cholesterol, look for a green juice recipe with mustard greens. Kale also works to manage cholesterol.

The best juice for protecting vision, I believe would be any of Kale, Mustard Greens, Swiss Chard or Dandelion greens.

Recipes, which include any of Kale, Mustard Greens, Swiss Chard or Dandelion are highly recommend for anyone who spends a lot of time in front of a computer. Any of those four are beneficial in protecting your vision from glare that could lead to cataracts and such.

If you are one of those folks that is always getting tired just walking around the house or feel like you are living in a down-in-the-dumps haze, Juice up some Escarole to put yourself on some rocket fuel juice.

Juice up 1 cup of Escarole and see what that does for you. Feel free to add the Escarole to any recipe that has a bit fruit in it to help sweeten the Escarole.

Tip: If you are constantly suffering from what feels like a mild to severe cold or you always feel tired and dazed even after getting 7 to 8 hours of sleep, I would highly recommend making up some green juice for detoxing.

Then good news. Any of the veggies in the Brassica family, such as cabbage and broccoli, and Mustard Greens and Kale are just what you are looking for.

The best ingredients for strengthening  bones all include Dandelion Greens, which are jammed packed full of calcium. On average half a cup of these greens will have about 75 milligrams of calcium.
